Ole is officially six months old! So exciting! He is also officially a cousin again with the birth of cousin Harper. He look absolutely gigantic compared to her and it is hard to imagine that he was every that little and helpless. This has been a big month for Ole as I feel like he grew by leaps and bounds lately and has quite a few big milestones in the process! He is really starting to show his personality and it is such a cute one. He remains the smiliest baby ever and has an infection laugh that you have to really work for, but once you got it, it is truly the best. Daddy is much better at coaxing it out! Some of my favorite things from this month include: Ole finally found out how to get that toe in his mouth! So funny watching him suck on his toes....ah, to be that flexible. He also started sucking his thumb which is so ridiculously adorable I can barely stand it. Check out all his other milestones below!
Baby Boy Specs
- Weight: Around 18-20?!? pounds
- Length: I don't know but am very curious to see in a week at our next appointment!
- Head Circumference: Growing out of his 6-12 months hats like a champ
- Clothing Size: 12 months for onesies and 9 for pants, though he does rock many 18-24 months t-shirts now, too!
Six Month Memories
- Food Milestone: First solid (pureed) food on June 27th: Sweet potatoes! He thought eating was pretty funny at first! He didn't love the flavor, but liked the rice cereal that came up next much better!
- Teeth!: Ole's first tooth popped out on June 18th! Daddy felt something sharp in Ole's mouth and sure enough, the next day there was a tooth there! Now he has two!
- Moving and Shaking: Ole decided to start crawling ironically on July 5-6 (depending on which day you count as he really did it one day, but we got it on video the next). It's definitely the best army crawl I've seen.
- Bath Time: Ole really loves the bath these days and his all time favorite bath activity....sucking the water through the wash rags. Such a funny bunny!
- Favorite Book: His first love for a book is for Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What do you Hear? by Eric Carle and Bill Martin, Jr. He loves the sounds that play along with it and he genuinely likes to listen to the story and not just try to eat the book pages the whole time.
- Prized Possessions: cell phones, water bottle, tv remote, plates and cups
- Nicknames: Sugar Buns, O
