5 Months Old

Five months and counting!  Every month I think back and am in awe of how much he has changed in just a short period of time and this month is no different!  He is quite an active little guy.  We bought him a bunch of new gadgets this month including a high chair so he can sit back and play with toys while mom makes breakfast in the am. It is also great practice for next month when Ole gets to try his first bites of pureed food!  So excited!  We also bought him a jumparoo which is truly his favorite thing at the moment.  Nothing beats a good jumping and playing session in that thing.  He is already on the 2nd of 3 height settings though so I hope we get some more time out of it.  It was the one recommended from the tall baby website (who knew that was a thing?).  He is such a smiley guy that EVERYONE comments on it when they see him.  He has the best ear to ear grin I have ever seen on a baby and he loves to show it to anyone and everyone!  Such a smiley guy this one!

Baby Boy Specs
  • Weight:  Based on our calculations, somewhere around 16-17 pounds
  • Length: I think our doctor mis-measured last time, because I really think he is one tall baby!
  • Head Circumference:  Large and in charge!
  • Clothing Size: 12 months for onesies and 9 for pants

Five Month Memories
  • Hoodie Man: Ole's favorite past time is pulling on and putting in his mouth the ties on my hoodies.  It is a no brainer when I am holding him and wearing a hoodie: straps in mouth now!  It is so funny and he loves it so much.  He is getting really good at grabbing small things and is very accurate now too.
  • Mr. Distraction: This guy has become one distracted nurser!  Oh my!  Sounds and colors all around him are much more exciting than nursing is these days.  It would take hours to nurse if we went at his pace.  I basically have to hide his eyes from anything exciting and will people not to speak sometimes to get this guy to take a full meal.
  • Funny Habits: He is really starting to show his personality and with that some funny habits that he has.  Things like reaching for the giraffe whenever he is being changed, insisting on kicking me or tugging on his ear when nursing at night, pretending to be shy when he is excited.  It is so fun to watch him grow and change!
  • Milestones: Rolls over quite easily and almost immediately when placed on his back.  He finds tummy time way more enjoyable these days.
  • Nicknames: O, Bug, Buns, Ole-son

*Ole's first Syttende Mai Parade in Ballard

*He loved watching all the parade-goers walk by.

*Just hanging in my high chair chewing on Sophie.

*First backyard pool day! It was a little cold, but Ole loved it! He is wearing an old pair of my baby diaper covers from when I was a baby.  So cute!

*They are already picking on each other!

    *Ole's first baseball game!
