One Year Old!

Well it happened!  Our little baby boy grew up in a full-blown toddler.  He has given up completely on crawling and loves walking everywhere.  He is full of personality and loves to play with all the new toys he got for his birthday and for Christmas.  He loves his new play kitchen and especially loves to play with all the new play food. And by play, we mean take each item and toss it from the container.  Too funny!  He is in love with his brother and follows Bear around the house and even plays with Bear.  Watching them "fight" over the same toy is priceless and Bear is so good with Ole.  I can't actually believe how quickly one year passed.  It is crazy to think about what life was like at this time last year....and how much we have learned in this short year.  He is just the cutest, sweetest, smiliest little man and he grows and changes every day!

Baby Boy Specs
Weight: 21 pounds, 8.3 ounces = 52%
Length: 32.5 inches = wait for it......100%  I am not surprised that he is tall, but 100% tall!?!?  That's just crazy.
Head Circumference:  48.5 cm = 97%, that head is staying large!
Clothing Size:  18-24 month and 2T as well depending on what it is....only really can wear 18 month in pants.

Ten-Eleven Month Memories
Favorite Foods: string cheese, sausage patties, happy baby puffs, teething biscuits, and bananas top the list

Favorite TV show: Yes, he has one....The Chica Show,  but Super Wings is a close second!  (We also love Ruff-Ruff, Tweet, & Dave, and Sydney Sailboat).  Is it bad that we have that many favorites and he is only 1 year old??
Teeth: 8 teeth and a visit to the pediatric dentist coming soon!
Mommy and Ole Dates: We love going to grandma's restaurant for lunch and especially love going to U Village for Evolution Fresh's smooth green avocado smoothie!  Who knew you loved green smoothies so much, Ole?

10-11 Months Old Already!

It appears we almost have a one year old on our hands!  My oh my!  In the past two months Ole has gone from a baby to a full grown toddler.....or at least a baby who toddles!  He is walking!  He started walking in late October and he hasn't stopped since.  He barely crawls anymore and is so proud of himself.  He is still unsteady, but is gaining stability and skills every day.  I still can't believe he is walking.  I look back at his baby pictures and can't imagine a day when he was that small or stationary.  Ole gets into everything these days!  He is so curious about just about everything in the house.  His favorites definitely include iPhone earbuds, Bear's toys (Bear and Ole play keep away from each other....it's seriously adorable), the silver candle holders, Bear's food and water bowls (loves to carry them around and pass them back and forth from hand to hand), and our electric toothbrushes just to name a few.  As any parent of a lively 11 month old will tell you, they can be a bit trying as well....what do you mean I can't have this sharp fork?  But I want it now!  We are gearing up for Ole's first Christmas as well....can't wait to start new traditions with our growing family!

Baby Boy Specs
Weight:  21 pounds when weighed at our last doctor visit.
Length: Long enough for a new carseat!
Head Circumference:  Going to go out on a limb here and say, still big.
Clothing Size: He is definitely rocking the 18-24 month outfits these days.  Before you know it we will be in 2T!

Ten-Eleven Month Memories
•Favorite Toys: as noted above, anything that is not his and that he shouldn't have.  Though he does love his new push toy and watching him "talk" on the phone is the cutest thing ever.
Favorite Foods: Ole is becoming quite an eater.  His favorites are sausage, string cheese, puffs, and Grandma Sandy's cottage cheese pancakes.
Teeth: 8!?!?
Mommy and Ole Dates: We have been frequently the shopping mall as Christmas approaches and love to stop at the play areas there.  University Village has a great one!
Sickness: well in the past 2 months we had our first cold (that was fun....as a bit of biting while nursing is an apparent side effect) and got a virus that lasted for a quite awhile. It was accompanied by a strange rash, explosive diarrhea on and off for a week, and he managed to give it to me, Chad, Elijah, Harper, and who knows who else as a result! It also was a bit of a letdown that it hit us on Thanksgiving, but that's how it goes I guess. Roll with it!
Like mother, like son: Ole loves to use the dust buster! I dust bust every night and when Ole hears it turn on, he comes straight over, grabs the handle, and helps me clean. It is so adorable. I know what some lucky 2 year old will be getting for his birthday some day!
Loud noises: besides Ole's newfound love of high pitch screeches, he makes the funniest sound after taking a drink of water. He makes a super loud, "Ahhhhhhh!" It is hilarious. It is as if he just had a huge drink of beer after a hard day's work.
Wizard Stick: Yup, someone has found himself and takes every diaper change as a great excuse to grab his "wizard stick" if you will. Ah boys!
Firsts: steps, sign ("more"), sickness, Halloween, Thanksgiving
•Nicknames: Sugar Plum (it is the holiday season!), O, Dinosaur Ole (he really does sound like one)

*Pumpkin Patch!

*Striking a pose

*More pumpkin patch fun with our friends!

*We LOVE the play area at the community pool!

*Halloween - a deer and a penguin and a shark walk into a bar...

*Ole was a bit unsure about pumpkin carving....

*Daddy's Birthday

*Mornin' folks
