Two Months Old

Our little guy is officially 2 months old today!  In some ways I wonder where the time went, but in others I can't believe that it has only been 2 months since this little guy made our family complete.  So crazy this thing called motherhood...Ole has changed so much since January 5th.  He looks like a little man now and his personality is starting to show through.  I would never say he is a high maintenance baby, but I wouldn't necessarily call him low maintenance either. ;)  If he gets good naps, then he is an absolute angel though.  When he first wakes up he is sooooo smiley as he is so well rested from begin such a good night sleeper.  He is still in mommy and daddy's bed, but pretty much sleeps the whole night long, only waking up to eat for a minute or two before falling back asleep which he does usually twice a night.  So we really can't complain as we both get a fair amount of sleep these days or should I say nights.  We are transitioning him into his bassinet though which will be good, though I will miss snuggling with him at night.  He finally got the Y in EASY down, and will fall asleep sometimes in the swing we are borrowing which has been so nice.  I find that sometimes he will sleep so long that I have to go make sure he is still breathing.  Lately, he has decided that isn't his cup of tea, but still enjoying long spurts of time in it, so I will call that a success (not to jinx myself, but while typing this he fell fast asleep in the swing, in 2 minutes time, and without a pacifier or a single peep! Yay!).  Below are some pics and memories of our sweet 2 month old!

Baby Boy Specs

  • Weight: 12 pounds, 2 ounces = 45%
  • Length: 23 3/4 inches = 81%
  • Head Circumference: 16.22 inches = 96%!
  • So in short....he is a tall and skinny baby with a gigantic head! ;)
  • Clothing Size: He just broke into his 6 month footed clothes.  So long this one!

Two Month Memories

  • Boxer: He makes the strongest fists and we laugh as it always looks like he is about to punch something...or us!
  • Bath time: He loves the bath, except for that one time we made water too hot #parentingfail
  • Bobblehead Ole: He has great neck control and his favorite thing to do is stand up as straight as possible.  He looks hilarious though as he makes a very serious face and clenches his fists all the while his head looks like a bobble head.  It is seriously the best!
  • Smiles O'Plenty: This is Ole's Irish name when he wakes up in the morning as he makes the biggest and best smiles ever!  He loves to stare at the Olympics posters above our bed and just grin from ear to ear.
  • El Matador: Ole's stretches look like a matador with one hand up and on down preparing to fight a bull.  Every time he stretches he does it.
  • Mr. Particular: Just like his mama, he is quite particular about things, specifically the fact that he will only start a nursing session on the right side.  Hmmm..... definitely my child.
  • Model Material: I have decided (much to Chad's chagrin) that Ole's signature color is definitely turquoise.  The boy really rocks that color!
  • Current Nicknames: O, and from Mom: Bubs, Cutes Magoots (no good explanation for that one!)
