19 Weeks Already?

DATE: August 15, 2014

HOW FAR ALONG? 19 Weeks

GENDER: Today is the big day that we could find out…if we were going to!  Our anatomy scan is this afternoon.  I keep worrying that we might be able to tell just from looking though!

BABY IS THE SIZE OF A:  Mango!  It certainly is getting big compared to the blueberry it once was.

TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN: Considering that a few weeks ago it was 10 pounds, you would think it would be more, but I am staying pretty close to 10-12 pounds right now, which from my pregnancy app I learned is mostly in increased blood flow!  You learn something new every day, literally every day!

MATERNITY CLOTHES? Oh yes!  Or at least I need to wear clothes with a lot more give then I used to. I feel like I have really popped out these past two weeks.  There is no denying that I am pregnant these days.  Hiding it is no longer an option (not that I ever wanted to hide it!).

STRETCH MARKS?  Not yet, though I continue to religiously slather cocoa butter on after every shower.

MOVEMENT:  I think so….it is so hard in the beginning to know what you are actually feeling, but there are definitely days when I think I feel a little flutter of something near my belly button.  Hopefully that means those kicking legs are up high and the baby is already getting into the correct position!  Here’s to wishful thinking!

SLEEP: Not bad just yet, though I am finding that my pregnancy pillow is becoming more and more necessary these days.  I absolutely can’t sleep well without a pillow or blankets between my legs.  Those hips are expanding!

SYMPTOMS:  I truly have nothing to complain about.  I have mild round ligament pain and even that is not really much at all.  I think my only symptom other than frequent nighttime bathroom trips would be have to be the continued burping!  I have been burping even more lately, but luckily there hasn’t been any heartburn yet.

FOOD CRAVINGS: I have really been wanting pasta lately and was able to fulfill that craving last night at my mom’s birthday dinner!  Happy birthday, Mom!

ANYTHING MAKING YOU SICK?  No, luckily, nothing right now!

WEDDING RING ON OR OFF? On, but getting a bit harder to get off these days.

BELLY BUTTON IN OR OUT? In, but not for long.  That belly button is stretching and certainly wants to pop out.

WHAT I MISS: I miss summer!  That’s what I miss.  With school starting on the horizon, I miss the lazy sunny days of summer.  But time moves on whether we like it or not!  September here we come!

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO:  Seeing the baby up close at today’s big ultrasound.  I want to see our baby’s face and cute hands and toes.  Hopefully the baby is in a good position for us to see him or her!  I am also looking forward to posting on Facebook which we held off on doing until after this ultrasound.

MILESTONES? The biggest milestone is coming up on Sunday!  The halfway point!  Wow, time certainly does fly by!

BEST MOMENT THIS WEEK:  We attended our first Bradley Method birthing class this week. It is every week for 12 weeks and I was worried about how it would go and how well we would relate to the teacher and the other couples in the class.  Luckily the other 3 couples are a lot like us and very nice and the teacher is very laid back and friendly.  I feel very blessed that this class presented itself to us! Thank you to a friend’s friend at a baby shower, a random morning perusing pinterest, and a waiter at Azteca (random, right?) for bringing this class to us!  Better work on my squats, tailor sitting, and keels for homework this week!

*Family fun in Sunriver!  We had a great time relaxing and enjoying some much needed sun and pool time!

*A little sneak peek at the nursery with out some 19 week photo outtakes!

*18 weeks sure went fast!  I love comparing these photos to the ones as 12 weeks when I was so proud of my mini-bump.  I can only imagine how I will feel 6 weeks from now!

*19 weeks photo...growing big these days and loving every minute of it!

*My beautiful mother celebrating her birthday yesterday!  It was a wonderful dinner and fun excuse to try out amy new striped maternity dress (which is really just an H & M dress in one size too big)!

*More fun in Sunriver! I can't believe that the next time we go to Sunriver it will be with a baby in tow!  Such a crazy thought...
