HOW FAR ALONG? 39 weeks and 1 day…6 days to go!
GENDER: If size is any indication then you would think that this baby is a boy as I read that boys are usually larger. But maybe this baby is a girl that just wants to grow tall like her momma!
BABY IS THE SIZE OF A: a watermelon (in weight that is!) and that would make our baby a large mini-watermelon
TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN: Oh my…. I gained another 5 pounds from last week (not sure how that is even possible), so that probably rounds me out somewhere around 48 pounds. Wow, that sounds like a lot, doesn’t it?
MATERNITY CLOTHES? Did you read the weight gain question? Oh yes, and looking forward to expanding my wardrobe choices after baby comes as I am very limited in what I can wear these days. God bless my long black stretchy dress and black stretchy tank top that make me look somewhat put together with a cute sweater on too.
STRETCH MARKS? None yet and after all this effort, I sure hope it stays that way to the end! Queen Helene Body Butter you are the best!
MOVEMENT: Last night the baby was kicking and punching and moving so much that it shocked Chad. He actually took a video of it just to prove that the baby really was moving that much!
SLEEP: I wake up usually every hour or so from 12-5am, always waking to a Braxton-Hicks contraction and to flip sides from one hip to another. It leaves me needing a nap most afternoons (I missed my nap today….), but it should be good practice for the sleepless nights to come I suppose!
SYMPTOMS: Not many besides increased practice B-H contractions. No real painful contractions yet and luckily my heartburn and snoring have slightly subsided which is nice for both Chad and I.
FOOD CRAVINGS: I really like dessert and sweet things these days, but given my weight gain should probably lay off them for awhile!
ANYTHING MAKING YOU SICK? No, luckily nothing!
WEDDING RING ON OR OFF? Off and will most likely not be able to come back on until after Baby Hansen arrives. I really do miss wearing it, especially on our anniversary yesterday…
BELLY BUTTON IN OR OUT? Out and proud!
WHAT I MISS: I miss my energy, as I am usually too tired at night to do much of anything like cook dinner or even stay awake for that matter. My feet also swell up if I am on them too long or if I don’t wear comfy shoes, so that is a bit frustrating. However, I have had (all-in-all) a very easy pregnancy and really shouldn’t complain!
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO: Meeting our little one and seeing him or her for the first time!
MILESTONES? The doctor confirmed that Baby Hansen is head down and dropped quite low. She also thinks that at birth the baby will be at least 9 pounds if not 10! Oh my…is it too late to rethink this whole natural childbirth process?!?! (Just kidding, but wow that is a big one!). Glad we didn’t buy any newborn size outfits for our “little” one!
BEST MOMENT THIS WEEK: This past week we celebrated Christmas with our families. It was such a special day and so fun to spend it with the ever expanding family on my side and with Chad’s family at his mom’s new house. It was a great holiday and we felt so spoiled by all the nice presents both for us and for our sweet baby! Chad and I also celebrated our one year wedding anniversary with the babymoon/anniversary night out downtown. We had a wonderful time walking around downtown looking at the lights, the gingerbread village at the Sheraton Hotel, shopping at H & M, enjoying appetizers at the Yard House, and culminating in a delicious steak dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse (best steak either one of us has ever had!). We stayed the night at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, along with the St. Louis Rams football team might I add, who lost their game the next day against the Seahawks. It was cool to see the players and coach, even if we really didn’t know exactly who they were. Chad got to enjoy the sauna, steam room, and whirlpool, and I got the breakfast in bed that I so desired! It was a great way to spend our anniversary and babymoon! One we won’t soon forget as it was just nice to get away just the two of us!
