HOW FAR ALONG? 35 weeks and 4 days
GENDER: I have been going back and forth so much lately. It was a boy for so long, then a girl for so long, that now I just want to be happy and prepared for whatever is in there kicking with its long legs!
BABY IS THE SIZE OF A: Honeydew Melon
TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN: An embarrassingly high 39 pounds! Oh my! Luckily everyone tells me that I don’t look like I have gained weight anywhere, but in my belly (though they might just fear telling a pregnant woman that she looks fat…)
MATERNITY CLOTHES? All I want to wear is my green Sunriver sweat pants, a now far too short tank top, and my robe…if only that was considered to be appropriate clothing to wear in public.
STRETCH MARKS? Luckily no. I feel very blessed to say that and will keep slathering on lotion twice a day until Baby Hansen arrives (and to be perfectly honest probably afterwards as well!).
MOVEMENT: My on my does Baby Hansen move around. Most of the movement I feel is at the top of my belly so it that would be big kicks coming from those long legs thanks to the genes this baby has from mom and dad! It is so fun to watch my belly absolutely roll about some days. It is such an amazing feeling. So hard to describe beyond that. Truly amazing. I think I will miss it….
SLEEP: It wasn’t great for awhile there, but I brought Roger (my pregnancy pillow) back to bed with me and the pillow has helped a lot. I sometimes even see 3 hours of sleep in row! It is good practice for the middle of the night wake ups to come.
SYMPTOMS: I have not had many symptoms lately. I had pretty bad heartburn on Thanksgiving night, but I think that 2 full Thanksgiving dinners at two different houses will do that to you! Chad was a trooper though and brought me pickle juice and milk (not together!) in the middle of the night to help with the heartburn. The pickle juice was not my favorite thing at 3am! The natural remedies seemed to work though.
FOOD CRAVINGS: Not really. I do fee like I need to ingest as much fruit and veggies as I can to help Baby Hansen grow big and strong though. I am trying to keep my holiday sweets in check, but it doesn’t seem fair that last Christmas I was trying to make sure my wedding dress still fit and this year, I am trying to keep my baby healthy. Christmas 2015 better watch out!
ANYTHING MAKING YOU SICK? No, but man am I tired these days!
WEDDING RING ON OR OFF? After a very full Thanksgiving (2 dinners back to back), my fingers swelled up a bit from all the salty food and I had a bit of a panic attack when I couldn’t get my wedding rings off. Needless to say the next morning they still were swollen, but I was able to rip (it truly hurt and felt like ripping) them off my finger. I have been too worried to put them back on even after my finger swelling went down. I have been wearing a wire ring that says, Love,” instead. It is from the wedding and was a gift I got myself and the bridesmaids. And best of all, it is adjustable so there is no fear that it will need to be cut off!
BELLY BUTTON IN OR OUT? Out and proud!
WHAT I MISS: Holiday coffee beverages! I love eggnog lattes and other seasonal drinks so much and it is sad that they just aren’t the same without coffee in them. I do plan to purchase some of my favorite flavors of holiday creamers though and stockpile them for after Baby Hansen arrives!
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO: I am looking forward to Christmas and celebrating with our every growing extended family! This is such a special time of year and it is even more exciting to have our baby’s arrival so closely tied with the holidays. Truly my favorite time of the year! And now I have more reasons for it to be so!
MILESTONES? At our doctor visit this week (we go weekly now!), the doctor did a quick ultrasound to confirm that the baby’s head was down. Sure enough it was down and she said it was engaged in my pelvis too and quite low. That is good news as the odds of the baby switching positions now is quite low. Way to go, Baby!
BEST MOMENT THIS WEEK: I have been in crazy nesting mode for the last few weeks. My goal was to clean the entire house from top to bottom before December. I went room by room and cleaned every nook and cranny of this entire house! While Chad was gone at Apple Cup, I actually spent 6 hours deep cleaning the kitchen! And then spent the next 6 hours wondering why my lower back was so sore? I had to have Chad help me with the last room as my lower back, which normally doesn’t hurt at all even during pregnancy, can not take more than an hour or so of cleaning before I have to stop. Guess I am as mobile as I used to be! The nest is complete though! It is such a weight off my shoulders to have the nesting complete! Thank you to my wonderful hubby for all his help! He has truly been the best.
*All dressed up for the ASB Auction. Same dress, but what a difference a year makes!
*Chad wanted me to know that I didn't look pregnant from back. My sweet husband knows just what to say!
