14 Weeks Along

HOW FAR ALONG? 14 Weeks

GENDER: Surprise! I hope that we don’t see anything we aren’t supposed to at our ultrasound next month…

BABY IS THE SIZE OF A: Lemon

TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN: 5 pounds roughly, I knew that it was coming considering this bump I am sprouting!

MATERNITY CLOTHES? Yes! My maternity tanks are awesome and my shorts just barely fit these days with a hair band to stretch the button hole out.

STRETCH MARKS? Lotion, lotion, lotion

MOVEMENT: I can’t wait to feel something and I am looking out for it all the time, but nothing just yet.

SLEEP:  It has definitely been better. 90 degree heat for a week doesn’t help this house cool down one bit and sleep is harder to come by in the sweltering heat.  Plus no one wants to cuddle with a pregnancy pillow when it is this hot, so I’m even less comfortable with nothing to put between my knees or keep me from rolling over on my back.  Good times at the Hansen household these nights!

SYMPTOMS: A few occasional mild headaches and some fatigue, but other than that I have been feeling pretty good.  I burp all the time after meals, especially dinner.  I’m pretty sure if I had been counting I would have easily burped 25 times yesterday.  Real classy, huh?  They just come out mid-sentence too which is even more awesome!

FOOD CRAVINGS: Not really, but I have found a new appreciate for frozen yogurt, popsicles, and the occasional ice cream in this sweltering heat.

ANYTHING MAKING YOU SICK? No, but most nights the thought of doing anything big after 8pm is enough to make me feel a bit sick.

WEDDING RING ON OR OFF? On and shining!

BELLY BUTTON IN OR OUT? In, but I had a big meal this evening and definitely felt that my belly button was a bit more strained than usual…a little taste of what is to come I suppose.

WHAT I MISS: This week has been a really good one, so I would say that I don’t miss much. Chad has been very supportive and helpful and always looks out for me. 

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO:Our 20 week ultrasound and getting to see our little guy or gal!

MILESTONES? I finally got to meet my new OB this week and I couldn’t be happier.  She was very nice and just the demeanor I need in a doctor. I also got to see our little one on the ultrasound screen though apparently the baby was in a really bad position for being able to see him or her.  The pictures are not very clear, but it was good to see our little one.  The baby had a strong heartbeat and I could see the spinal column, heart, and little hands.  Such a cute profile! Apparently our little one is no doubt growing as the doctor put it!  Our little one is measuring quite tall for his or her age!  Not in a bad way, just in a tall parents kind of way!!

BEST MOMENT THIS WEEK: The best moment beyond seeing our little Baby Hansen on the big screen was spending the weekend visiting with friends and catching up.  We also finally posted a baby announcement and Bear got to spread the good news!
